One section that many people may not have explored is the Bisle ghat section. In case u get a chance, do visit that place. I thought of scribbling something coz , I happen to come from a place near to bekal. I am sure you would have enjoyed bekal. Couple of other places that you could have visited are "ranipuram" and this riverside resort called "nalanda resorts". I guess the resort guys arrange house boat stays as well.
