Kissed by the clouds: At Rohtang Pass, a couple of hours from Manali, after a lovely drive (on very bad roads) I spent an hour looking at people having fun posing in skis, and thick fur coats (looking rather silly, I should add) playing snow games. Then I sat down to drink a cup of nice welcome chai made by an old gentleman who’s set up shop somewhere at the top. May 2006.
