I was pleasantly surprised when I tuned in yesterday to find one more radio channel. So finally, Bangalore gets one more radio channel, Radio Mirchi at 93.3 MHz.
IMHO, there are too few radio channels on air. Which is strange because it’s such an economical means of communication and a high penetration.
Ah, April showers! When the first few droplets fell on my balcony on Saturday evening, I thought it was my neighbours upstairs cleaning their balcony. When it started raining in earnest, I rushed out and put my hand out to catch the first few droplets. Rain still excites me for some reason. And it’s been so hot and humid over the last few days, that I could almost hear the parched earth asking for some water.
This is extremely sad news. He surely deserved a dignified farewell. As someone commented, 1 man dies and we showed our reverence by killing three five innocent people. A metro held to ransom. Cars burnt, buses stoned and people dead. There is definitely something wrong with us.
On April 8, Saturday, I completed two years in Bangalore. It’s a milestone for me. The two years flew by and as an exercise, I was going through my blog archives for every month since I’ve been here to relive what I’ve gone through and things I’ve done. See, there are some advantages of archiving your life, month by month!
Chitra (who is also Suman’s wife), sent me this mail about what’s happening with PG admissions and the dilemma the students are in. I have the utmost respect for doctors and what they do, given the conditions they work under, especially in our country. So many brilliant members of the community, flee the country, not just for the money but because of the apathetic conditions they are forced to work under, if they stay in India. Here is the text of what she sent. Chitra says that this issue has not been highlighted by the mainstream media at all and she feels that we as bloggers and independent spokespeople should do an equally good job of spreading awareness by talking about it and passing this news around.
So after going back and forth for about a month, Bangalore joins the metroblogging network as of today!
