Another year, another journey!

December 31st, 2009  |  by Anita  |  published in Living

It’s become a bit of a tradition for me. Even if I don’t update the blog as frequently as I should, I make sure I do an end of the year post :-) It’s that time of the year after all! The time to look back, relive good memories, learn from the bad ones and move […]

TFN and the rest of the trip">TFN and the rest of the trip

Day 3: Hassan to Madikeri A day filled with scenic routes but a lot of climbs and pretty tiring too in the end. It turned out to be a long day for me. The best part was early on when we had the Gorur dam stretch opened up for us to cycle on — around […]

Tour of the Nilgiris: Day 1 and 2

December 17th, 2009  |  by Anita  |  published in Cycling, India & Around, Living, Sports & Adventure, Travel

On Day 1, we made it from Bangalore to Mysore via the National Highway. It wasn’t the most pleasant stretch in terms of traffic, but I was just glad that I could get this part over with. With trucks and other high speed vehicles all moving at break neck speeds and honking continuously, it’s not really conducive to cyclists. But after lunch on the road, we reached our destination — the comfortable Hotel Regaalis and even got some time to take in some sightseeing in the evening.

While I’ve been away!

November 12th, 2009  |  by Anita  |  published in Living

Just realised that it’s been a while since I updated. And I have good reason too! I have been busy preparing for the Tour of the Nilgiris… It’s now around a month and a week away — and I still don’t feel I’m preparing well enough. And though, I’ve been hard at work climbing hills […]

Love, light and happiness!

October 17th, 2009  |  by Anita  |  published in Living, Personal

It’s the festival of lights — one I associate some great childhood memories. Growing up, we had fun with our share of crackers and other noise creating diversions. The crackers fortunately no longer seem attractive and we stopped indulging in them quite long ago — besides being polluting (both air and noise) somehow it doesn’t […]

More women power needed!

October 14th, 2009  |  by Anita  |  published in Living

So the action on the Tour of the Nilgiris is heating up! There’s a lot going on and you’ll see it if you log into the website. Personally, I’m really excited about the ride and am looking forward to the hard work, the sweat, the tears and the fun! And if you still want to take […]
