Wet, wet weekend!

Posted on June 21, 2005June 21, 2005

So a gang of 19 of us made it to Honnemardu for the weekend.

We spent most of the time in water. And getting wet even out of it since it poured and poured and poured.

Came back to Bangalore on Monday morning with lots of wet clothes and a tan πŸ™‚

The folks who made it:
Adel
Arnab
Chander
Dheepak
Nithya
Kavitha
Kripa
Suman
Sathish
Retisaint
Vazu
Anjana
Anuja
Ganesh
Roopa
Tulsi
Sathish
Senthil

With Roopa in the water

Roopa and me enjoy the warm waters of Honnemardu

A lovely trip. Great weather – rainy, but fun! An eventful night camping in a deserted island. Swimming back from the island to base camp. Canoeing. Rowing. Capsizing. Loads of rice and sambar. Climbing, slipping, falling… Lovely bunch of people. What more can one ask for on a weekend out of town?

Pictures and write-up will follow later as usual πŸ™‚

Search for an Internet broadband connection

Posted on May 22, 2007May 22, 2007

Why is this so hard, I am thinking? It should be as easy as walking in to the vendor, getting the information and then the connection. But if life was that easy, this wouldn’t be India, would it?! So here I am, still struggling to find a broadband connection at…

Of gastronomy, gluttony and much gladness

Posted on January 29, 2010January 29, 2010

It was a different experience in Mumbai this time around – we played tourists to the hilt. When you live in a city, I think you tend to miss a lot of things – fine details you don’t really notice as you rush about your daily work. Like that lovely Church behind Fort where I worked for a year or so – why had I never seen it? The beautiful old heritage buildings in Kalaghoda and Fort – never looked at them closely before. I had little time to stand and stare back then.

Forays into the forest: Here’s why I love it!

Posted on July 18, 2014July 18, 2014

I look forward to opportunities to travel to the different jungles and reserves in India whenever I can. We don’t realise it but we’re really lucky – there are so many (still) to choose from. Most states boast of such rich flora, fauna and reserved forests and I am still…
