Make Your Trip: 10 Destinations, 1000 Bucks!

Posted on May 16, 2007May 23, 2007

Well folks, fellow travelers and adventurous bloggers – this is going to be a challenge for sure!

While I am sure it’s really easy to spend 1000 bucks on a single destination : here’s something to think about. Can you make the same amount last for 10 destinations? Sounds impossible? But then we’re all crazy people thinking up and doing crazy things, so why not another crazy idea?!

Fellow blogger Sathish K, who has wanderlust flowing in his veins, and a few others have come up with this fun travel idea and the details are here.

o Start Date: 10th June 2007 Morning (Sunday)
o End Date : 24th June 2007 evening (Sunday)

Some details:

• Each team consists of two members
• You have Remotest village in a state is a must visit.
• Farther the distance of travel from starting point more the fun.

So there you go!

– 3,166,414 sq. km
– 500,000 villages approximately
– 1000 bucks per person
– 15 days
– 10 destinations
– 2 per team
– 1 race

And of course you can take pictures, videos, write about it and hopefully when all the teams come back from the travels, there will be loads of fun stories to share! No winners or big prizes for now – it’s a bloggers initiative so it’s for pure thrill and excitement!

But the hunt is on for sponsorships. If you think you can sponsor something or help in some way do contact k.sathish at gmail dot com.

And please do spread the word around. Link to this post or write your own post! The more publicity, the better 🙂

UPDATE on May 23: Sathish informs me that they’ve managed to get sponsorship from oktatabyebye.com who will be sponsoring the 1000 bucks and also t-shirts for the participants. And of course, photos/videos will be expected at the end of the journey 🙂

The 5 rules of engagement

Posted on December 3, 2013

Actually, I thought I’d call this post, “matters of the heart”. And then I changed my mind. Didn’t want to sound too cheesy, right? Someone was telling me how I don’t write too many personal posts nowadays. And then I thought I should make some changes. I didn’t really intend…

The magic of mealtime

Posted on August 7, 2018August 7, 2018

Growing up, I remember that my parents always made sure we ate at the table. Together. At least one meal and it was usually dinner. I didn’t really pay much importance to it till I grew up and moved on and out of home.  Now that I look back, I…

Since I write for some other sites, can I spread this ‘crazy-yet-exciting’ initiative thru a post there.. Go ahead and do reply.
