Goa – in black and white

Posted on October 28, 2004

After finishing a few colour rolls, I decided to experiment with a black and white one while in Palolem, Goa.

Here are some of the snapshots.

This one is my favourite! I wanted to bundle all of them into my rucksack and bring them home to Kit Kit!

The colour photographs will take a while longer, as the scans I got from GK Vale are absolutely crappy. So I will have to get all three rolls from the Dandeli-Goa trip rescanned. This is the second time this has happened. I think because of the load, their quality is becoming worse these days. But that’s really no excuse for grainy, low quality scans. Hopefully, I shall manage to get them all done by tomorrow.

Rustic and unique: A glimpse into the crafts of Nirona

It’s a sunny day when the taxi driver pulls up in a rather non-descript looking village and drops me in front of an ATM. I don’t really see what he wants me to see. Yet. And then I see this guy, holding a smart phone, standing beside the ATM and…

Geetanjali, Merci beaucoup! Diplome… wow! I am not sure I will be able to survive that long πŸ™‚

LL: Black and white do have a special charm…

Vegas: Your wish has been granted πŸ™‚

Wildflower: Hmmm.. obsession with Kit Kit is a ‘forever thing!’

Kalyan: Thanks. You did have a chance πŸ™‚

Pratap: Try Prabhu’s on Brigade Road. They do decent scans and prints. The last few prints I took from them from slides was pretty good.

    Hi Anita,

I was googling “GK Vale” and this page was the fourth one returned. It is amazing and interesting how search engines connect things…

Thanks for the info on scans… GK Vale does a lousy job of scanning in spite of clear, repeated instructions…

Good for me and bad for “GK Vale” that googling it returns this page!!!
