Take a jump! Posted on December 16, 2004 Everyone who’s been bungee jumping usually has one thing to say, “It’s better than —” (fill up with whatever gives you the greatest thrill)! If you haven’t tried it yet, go for it at the Palace Grounds. It’s on till December 19th. It’s a high you won’t get to experience otherwise! I remember my first jump. It was on New Year’s Day, 2002. I thought I’d do something different to start off the year. Along with a friend of mine (the rest all chickened out!), I went to Mumbai’s Andheri Stadium where the event was being organized. It was amazing to watch the expressions of folks as they came off from the jump. Priceless! I had seen a line of screaming, ecstatic men and women, till my turn came. It was a little scary as the ascent to the jumping point began. I concentrated on the view around the stadium as the crane took me higher. I had never seem Mumbai from such a height (it looked rather beautiful too!). At the top, the instructor, in his calmest voice (he had a lot of practice after all) says, “It’s really easy. Just pretend you’re falling into your bed with nice cushions to fall back on.” That was it. And I jumped. The moment (unfortunately) lasts only a few seconds. But it was the most exhilerating feeling I’ve experienced. One of those things you simply have to do at least once in your life. I kept hearing people talk about the thrill of the jump … so I went to investigate (few years ago) I picked lunchtime when there was not much crowd,paid at the counter and climbed the long ladder and jumped … It was fun & new but hey I did not feel exhilarated … so I go the counter immediately pay again,climb the really long ladder again and jump … still … it felt like my expectations were higher than what I actually experienced … maybe basejumping with a bungee would be exciting … it is on my ‘to do ‘ list… To me falling of a snow slope,sliding down at great speeds and then arresting myself to a stop was more exciting than the bungee jump from a 100+ feet… Reply
All I can say is, Wait till you parajump ! There’s nothing like the rush you get, when you jump from 40,000 ft from above the earth. And the best part is, you are falling like a stone. Just a rip chord between you and death. Now that’s what you call a high. 🙂 Reply

i think there are easier ways to get thrill in life… if a jump could give you kick.. maybe so be it.. i for one cant imagine doing it ever in my life… i have a phobia for all things shaking and falling…. Reply
besides all this… i was looking for tripod today… now i am not able to decide between tall or medium height electronic controller attached or regular one… any suggestions ?? Reply
