Weekend with travel bloggers

The gang posing atop Brahmagiri hill Spent last weekend in cool Coorg with a bunch of travel and blog enthusiasts – some who I was already familiar with and a bunch of new faces. It was great to meet the folks whose blogs I had been following for a while now – Arun and Mridula amongst others. The group was an eclectic one from the quiet to the very talkative, to the serious to the fun loving, but somewhere we found a fine and fun balance! The travel report and pictures will follow later.

Blog Updates

I realised that loads of links on my travel page were not working. Finally got around to fixing them and have also updated my 2007 travel section. I still need to add some of my latest travel reports from Agumbe and Bhutan. I often have people emailing me or leaving comments asking for suggestions etc. on travel. I’ve also created this page with travel related links that I hope you will find useful. In case you want to suggest anything useful, do leave a comment or email me (anitabora5 at rediffmail dot com). Another thing I realised is that many of the links in my blog roll were defunct or not working, so I’ve cleaned it up and also added a lot of my recent readers. If you’ve been a regular reader and want to be added, and I’ve left you out, please do let me know. I have also removed the drop down and changed them into normal links for easier access. The only problem is that it’s terribly long, but I think I’ll …

Search for an Internet broadband connection

Why is this so hard, I am thinking? It should be as easy as walking in to the vendor, getting the information and then the connection. But if life was that easy, this wouldn’t be India, would it?! So here I am, still struggling to find a broadband connection at home, after Airtel cancelled my line because they didn’t have a port in the new apartment I shifted to recently. I’ve posted about my experience with them here. I thought I would try and get the Reliance Data and Voice Modem, but after 4 visits to their Webworld, this is what happened yesterday. Needless to say, I am mostly speechless about how difficult a simple thing can turn out to be! And it’s their smug and ‘we-don’t-need-you’ attitude that really bothers me. Even if I can pay cash now, I don’t want to go back to that place. Ever again. Next is BSNL, and let’s see what happens there.

Comment problems

I had a few complaints from folks not being able to leave comments. Apparently, the version of spam karma2 I’m using is not compatible with this template and so the comments were not being accepted. It’s been fixed now, so please do leave me a comment or two so I know it’s working fine 🙂 In case, you’re still having problems, drop in a mail at anitabora5 at rediffmail dot com.
