A gastronomical weekend Posted on September 23, 2003 On Saturday night, we went out for a Chinese place for dinner. On Sunday, it was a place called Susie’s (Correction: Sue’s Kitchen) for lunch. If you are visiting Bangalore or live there, you must do Sue’s (especially, if you haven’t done it yet!). It’s a Caribbean restaurant located in Indiranagar. The owner is from West Indies and has set up a little cosy nook that you must experience sometime. Quite a popular joint, it was packed when we went for lunch. Apparently, it’s a must visit for the West Indian cricketers when they are visiting India. For Rs 180 a head for the buffet lunch (pretty reasonable, I think), we were treated to a delicious spread of about 4-5 salads. The vegetable soup was mouth-watering. For the main curry, there was crab, mushroom and corn curry, delicious fish cutlets and a yummy vegetable baked dish, among other stuff. One can only eat so much! I had gained at least 5 kilos heavier by the time the weekend was over. (PS: Kinglsey, looks like the prawn pulao will have to be postponed to the next time!) Anita Recommends Food, wine and conversation Posted on May 16, 2013May 17, 2013 Food and wine together are an irresistible combination. Especially on a weekend, when it’s time to let the hair down, rejuvenate and relax! However hot Bangalore is turning during the day, the evenings are relatively pleasant. At least outside. So one Saturday evening, with a couple of friends, I decided to… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More
For a slice of chocolate heaven! Posted on February 24, 2007February 24, 2007 Okay, now let me confess that I’m not very big on chocolate or sweets. But that certainly didn’t stop me from trying this dessert place called Chocolate Painted Platters. I took the opportunity to ogle at the different shapes & sizes. And take pictures. There is a poster with some… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More
Fishy Tales Posted on March 23, 2004 I started off disliking fish. I hated picking bones. I still remember taking a trip to Goa with my office colleagues in 1998, when I avoided the delicious fish preparations and ate chicken instead. They all thought I was crazy. I probably was! I am not sure at what point… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More
