Colours of India – In Pictures Posted on August 21, 2004 Earlier in the week, I had written about visiting Yeshvantpur market and a school on Independence Day. Here are a few snapshots… The colours of India… The heights of patriotism?! Girl in a basket Isn’t it ironic? Colour coordinated bindi And more pictures on the photoblog… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Photography

A photo essay Posted on November 16, 2005November 17, 2005 I was looking through my trip photographs and decided to pick one or two from every place I visited and do a quick photo essay : a memory recap through all the places and sights I saw and the people I met. Just little memories that keep popping upĆ¢ā¬Ā¦ Here they are, countrywise, but in no particular order. Back from Goa! Posted on December 23, 2008December 23, 2008 Just back from a week long cycling trip to Goa. We cycled over 60 kms every day over 5 days. The weather was hot and steamy. The terrain was up and down and mostly unpredictable. We crossed beaches, little towns, hamlets, green fields, mining areas, hills, plains, forests and wildlife… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More

how do i get on the indian bloggers list. and the pix are great. (was that a bit too-obviously-late addition?) Reply
Hi Anita, Great pictures though I think the 4th one is degrading and against “The Prevention Of Insults To National Honour Act, 1971” as the Indian flag is being displayed with the saffron part down. (http://mha.nic.in/nationalflag2002.htm) I’m sure not many are aware of this code. š Reply
May I suggest to take off the penultimate one š The veggie vendor is – ofcourse a neat shot š Reply
Kraz: please write to me at anitabora5 at rediffmail dot com Thank Mehak… Prads: It’s definitely not a nice sight. And therefore the title of the picture. Arun: Why remove it? I’ve only recorded what I saw. I know it’s not a pretty picture. And that’s just the point. Everything you see around you isn’t na? We can’t remove the unpleasant side out of life just because it doesn’t look good. so it stays for now. Reply
I think the title of the picture is justified. It’s indeed ironic but I’m sure (or would take it as) the guy didn’t know he was disrespecting the national flag. Well, it’s your journal and I’m noone to ask you for removing it but I think it’s kind of a contrast to the whole experience and also leaves a bad taste at the end. Reply
Danto: I think it will stay on for now! Prads: It is definitely not a pretty sight. And I think that is what our country is all about – it is a bundle of contradictions. But I don’t see why we have to shy away from the ugly side. It’s exists and I don’t think we can ignore it in a country like ours. We see scenes and sights like this everyday and worse, everywhere and everyday and we can’t exactly move around with our eyes closed… Thanks Kunal. Reply

craps casino There are several theories on the history of Craps. One take is that in ancient times rolling of bones was done to divine the will of the gods, and that from this evolved both dice and various dice games (including Craps). Another take has the game evolving from an early Arab game passed through England, France and North America. Reply
