Book reviews Posted on January 19, 2004 Have you ready any good tech/IT/human resources or general management books lately? Anything worth sharing with others? I need a review of about 3-4 paras. Please get in touch me with me if you’d like to share a review. It’s for a IT recruitment site that I look after right now. It will be credited to you if published. I’d like to work out some sort of payment, possibly in the future 🙂 The book should be available in India. Watched ‘God Only Knows!’ last week for a review. It was strictly okay. The verdict: Forget Bharat Dabholkar, I doubt even God knows why this movie was made. The fat cat is coming to town this year. This is one movie that I am not going to miss. And regarding this, what can I say, but ‘about time, fellas’… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Books
Politics of life, love and betrayal Posted on March 30, 2006March 30, 2006 It’s been on my reading list for a while and I finally managed to finish it! The Kite Runner is about two boys Amir and Hassan who grow up in Afghanistan. While Amir is the son of a businessman, Hassan’s father is a servant to Amir’s father. Yet, they forge a friendship when they are really young (they are also nursed by the same woman). Inspite of their closeness, Amir finds it difficult to acknowledge Hassan as a friend because of their class differences. Once particular incident seals their fate and Amir can never reconcile to what constitutes a rather cowardly act. A journey along the Brahmaputra Posted on March 10, 2006March 13, 2006 Just finished this really interesting travel book called River Dog. I found it most enthralling since it takes a lot to undertake a journey of this nature. Not only is it fraught with dangers and risks of all kinds; but the Himalayas, Tibet and Arunachal are not very friendly terrains… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More

I know of a management book which is good and useful. Please tell me where I can mail you the review and details. Reply
Vinita: Please send it to me at anitabora at vsnl dot net. Also add a line about yourself. Thanks! Reply
The best management text book that I’ve read is called “Good to Great” by Jim Collins. I wrote a very brief review of this and posted it to Amazon – almost 2 years ago now. You can see it if you scroll down the following page: (Look for “An extremely insightful book!” by jag@tesco.net). http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0712676090/customer-reviews/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/026-0696433-9818064 Not sure how to find out whether it is available in India though? Hi Jag! Read the review. However, I’d need a little more about the book (at least 4 paras), what it’s about, how you can benefit from it etc. If you think you can add anything else, do send it across to me. anitabora at vsnl dot net Reply
