Action in the Skies

Posted on February 13, 2009February 13, 2009

The Aero Show is on in Bangalore right now and it’s worth a visit. I’ve never gone for the air show and I am glad I made it this time. The pyro technics of the airplanes made my heart stop for a moment. Lots and lots of different kinds of planes on display and the thunderous sound and gymastics of some of the fighter planes is enough to keep you spellbound!

It’s open to the public on Sat and Sun and well worth a visit.

Weekend trip: Hogenakkal

Posted on September 17, 2007September 17, 2007

It’s a famous place. As soon as you land there, the coracle guy informs us about it’s claim to fame – it was featured in the movie Roja. I shall have to go back and watch Roja sometime, I make a note. The Hogenakkal falls itself is quite spectacular, with…

V-Day has become V-Scary Day!

Posted on February 14, 2007February 14, 2007

Following my post yesterday, there have been more interesting (and predictable) developments in the Indian public space. People in the city of Jaipur are advised to indulge in private displays of affection instead (this is very much Indian culture, btw) and make loads of babies. It’s good for the country,…

Which flower art thou?

Posted on August 19, 2004

Last Saturday, I ventured into Lalbagh Gardens at about 8.00 am in the morning and got the shock of my life. That place was crowded! The aim was to take morning shots of the flower show. Unfortunately I had problems loading the film into my camera so I was stuck…

I have been hearing the planes above my head (I live in Yehlanka). I think next time I will go outside and look up. At the very least, its an excuse to look at the sky, isn’t it?
