Now for some food… Posted on April 18, 2007April 18, 2007 I’m sure most of you would have stopped at Kamat’s Lokaruchi on the Bangalore Mysore highway near Ramanagaram at some point or the other. It’s a popular stop for travelers and especially at lunch time, when they serve traditional South Indian meals in plantain leafs. I was of course super excited since I don’t get to eat food served like this too often. I tried the same meal on subsequent days as we’d timed our stops so we could be there at lunch time. The chatnis, sabjis and accoutrements that go along with the meal are really delicious and I savoured eveything on my leaf immensely! And I like the way everything is served in small quantities so you can ask for more of whichever one you like the most. They had three kinds of meals the day we visited: Karavali, North Karnataka and Ragi Mudde. I so enjoyed the Karavalli meal that I had it on both days. A must stop on the highway and try and make it for lunch. Weekends are crowded but worth trying to find some place π Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Entertainment India & Around Living Travel Wining & Dining

Living Coping with life changes and enjoying the seasons Posted on April 11, 2019March 22, 2025 My initial emotions when contemplating yet another life changing shift was equal parts anticipation and depression/anxiety. And probably, now that I think about it, quite naturally so. I did live in California for nearly 4 years (they did fly by) and built a life and a social network there. I… Share this: Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Share on X (Opens in new window) X Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Print (Opens in new window) Print Read More
